CAR and other vehicle enthusiasts will descend on Shepton Mallet this weekend for the Footman James Great Western Autojumble – one of the biggest events of its kind in the UK.

With varying weather predicted, organiser Mortons Media Group has decided to move all outside trade stands inside to join the hundreds already booked into the venue’s halls.

Head of the event Andy Kitchen said: “With all stalls now inside, punters and traders can ditch their brollies and stay undercover for what is the biggest inside autojumble in the region.”

Traders will be offering all types of autojumble from spares and parts to tools, accessories, cleaning products, memorabilia and more.

Alongside will be several displays from some UK car clubs and private entrants, and classic car drivers are invited to bring their pride and joy to the event’s classic car park where they will be entitled to discounted show entry.

Tesla will also have a presence at the event, displaying its Model S and offering visitors the chance to experience the highly advanced electric vehicle.

A sale from auctioneer Charterhouse will wrap up proceedings on Sunday with lots ranging from £500 starter classics through to £50,000 thoroughbred sports cars.

Reduced rate tickets can be bought in advance and cost just £8 for one-day adult entry – a £1 discount on the gate price.
